2002
Sparnaður ehf. established as a sales company for the sale of insurance and financial related products.
2007
Sparnaður received a proxy contract with the German company Versicherungskammer Bayern for the sale and service of pension savings.
2014
The Central Bank of Iceland suspended the recent sale of foreign pension insurance due to foreign currency concerns. However, the foreign pension insurance companies were allowed to maintain the contracts that had been concluded before 2014.
2019
Versicherungskammer Bayern decided to re-enter the Icelandic pension market through its subsidiary Saarland Versicherungs and the insurance agency PM-Premium Makler.
